ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Atlantic Journalism Awards (AJAs) returns to its roots with a cocktail reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, June 20, at the Halifax Central Library.
Hey Atlantic Canadian journalists! Just reminding you that the entry deadline for the 2026 Atlantic Journalism Awards is March 21, only days away. It’s the 45th year for our awards and
the chance to show our colleagues and our audience the great work we did last year.
Our sponsors recognize the value of local Atlantic Canadian journalism and are proud to help us show the world what we do and how we report on Atlantic Canadian communities.
We also need you to participate and show YOUR pride in the work that you do.
The AJAs are a chance to have your stories judged and showcased so that we can all get the word out about the strong, vital community of journalists who live and work here, proudly reporting on the people of Atlantic Canada.
So sign up and enter your exceptional work so that the AJAs can continue to show Atlantic Canada, and the rest of the country, the struggles, triumphs, and stories of the people who live here.
The Atlantic Journalism Awards, established in 1981, is a highly regarded annual program that recognizes journalistic excellence and achievement in print and electronic news media in Atlantic Canada.
The AJAs is a federally Incorporated non-profit organization and is directed by a volunteer industry Board of Directors. The project is financed by a number of supporters.
In recent years, close to 400 entries have been received from Atlantic Canadian journalists in the 31 print, radio and television categories.
